GigaOm is a technology research firm that publishes a variety of reports to help businesses better understand the latest technologies to make more informed decisions. GigaOm Radar reports break down technologies and products across key criteria and evaluation factors to provide insight into specific solution spaces.
In the first-ever Radar Report for SaaS Management Platforms, GigaOm listed Productiv as a Leader and Fast Mover with exceptional spend management and contract renewal management capabilities. Unlike other quadrant-based comparison charts, the Radar positions vendors on a series of rings to show their positioning. The dark gray inner ring — where Productiv is positioned — is reserved for Leaders.

The report highlights Productiv as an SMP that provides “deep intelligence regarding SaaS application spend and contract renewal management, helping to optimize overall spend” and that “recommendations and benchmarks drive cost savings when analyzing granular usage and cost data.” As a result, Productiv received the highest score of exceptional for “spend management” and “contract renewal management.”
Productiv rated highly for capabilities related to greater discovery and app visibility
Productiv is the only vendor to be listed for security operations integration, an emerging technology. Productiv integrates with cloud access security brokers (CASB) for application discovery.
Gartner names Productiv in 4 Hype Cycles for 2022
Productiv was recognized in the SaaS management platforms (SMP) category in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Midsize Enterprises, 2022; Hype Cycle for Digital Workplace Infrastructure and Operations, 2022; and Hype Cycle for I&O Automation, 2022. Additionally, Productiv was recognized in the SaaS operations (SaaSOps) category in the Gartner Hype Cycle for Cloud Computing, 2022. Hype Cycles provide clients with an overview and graphical depiction of the relative maturity of technologies and innovations in a specific area, offering a simple way to understand and communicate the complex issues related to maturing innovations and their associated benefits.
SaaS management platform category
Gartner defines SMP in its report Hype Cycle for Digital Workplace Infrastructure and Operations, 2022 as providing “central admin console capabilities to discover, manage, automate, optimize and govern SaaS used by employees.”* On the importance of SMP, the report says, “As SaaS adoption accelerates, many IT leaders are challenged with discovering and supporting SaaS in accordance with company, market or geographic policy and regulations.”*

Gartner uses SaaSOps in its report Hype Cycle for Cloud Computing, 2022 to describe “the operational aspects of end users that use SaaS applications in the cloud, and those that deploy their own software in the cloud and want to operate the software like a SaaS provider.”**
