  • Check upcoming renewals 
  • Add in the ‘Capabilities’ column to the contracts view and filter for any of following application categories, which we frequently see overlap:

  • Review the capabilities to find applications with similar functionality that exist in your application portfolio 
  • Run a side-by-side comparison to determine if the existing tool in the tech stack meets the needs of your team or if the renewing app provides better functionality, efficiency, or cost savings.
  • Document your findings in the renewal or non-renewal justification for stakeholder discussions.
  • If retiring the app or reducing functionality, ensure that you highlight the cost savings at renewal to see accurate data reflected on your renewal report.

    1. Create a new survey from the “Gather feedback on an application” Template
    2. Ask users their sentiment around other applications as well. What’s their experience with that tool, are there other tools they would consider using? 
    3. Determine the correct audience for your survey - provisioned users of each application or users that have access to both. Use the Compare Apps feature to determine which users have access to both applications. 
    4. Review survey responses, leveraging Sidekick summaries to synthesize large datasets.
